K2 PONTOON SKIS

K2 Pontoon Skis

The K2 Pontoon skis are designed to give performance on downhill and powder snow trails. There is a rocker built into the ski, which gives it a bowed up tip and tail. This allows you to control your speed in the powder like no other ski and the quickness of these skis is incredible. It is easier for the skier to maintain balance on any surface condition for maximum control.

The tip has a width of 160mm and the waist is of 130mm. This makes the tip stay above snow surface on the trails. You cannot bury the tip no matter how hard you try. This gives a feeling of flotation for which the K2 Pontoon is best known. There's a side cut right under the foot, which makes it easy to maneuver, especially on firmer trails or get back to the lifts for another round.

Despite the 130mm waist, they are quick enough to turn. K2 Pontoon skis are not designed to race, but if you are going to fast, you can slow down easily by sliding sideways. You cannot only use them on power dump trails but also on low descents. You will easily float around trees and sail smoothly through loosely packed moguls.

The tips and tails of the skis do not grab and this makes it easy to pivot your feet to make a turn. Very little effort and speed is required to make turns. They have a good swing weight. You can ski for a much longer period of time without getting tired on the Pontoons. The core material used is Fir or Aspen wood. Though recommended for experts, even intermediate skiers will find them easy to handle as they take their skiing experience to a higher level.

The first of these ski resorts we will look at is the high-altitude ski resort called Orcieres. Orcieres is located in the Champsaur valley of France and has a altitude of about 2725km – high enough for the risk-taking ski adventurers. The site is located near the Ercins National Park and the ski resort’s altitude gives skiers a grand view of the surrounding landscape.

Skiing in Colorado in 2009

Well, it is that time of year again - time to go skiing again on the rough, sloped plains of Colorado. As one of my favorite winter pastimes, skiing gives me that adrenaline rush, as I am going 80-plus miles an hour down those rough and rocky hills, avoiding animals and trees as I make my down to the finish point.

Although, there are many places for you and I to ski, the ski resort, in Aspen, is one of the best in the state. Also, if you are planning to ski in the ‘Rocky Mountain State’ this is the place to do it.

What is so good about going skiing in Colorado is you can do it all year long, since the Rocky Mountains are filled with snow throughout the year – even in the summertime.

The reason that I picked Aspen as the best place to ski is due to the fact that anyone, form novice to pro skiers, can ski on courses that are related to their level of experience. I, myself, am an experienced skier – with 15 total years of ‘surfing’ the slopes.

Also, at the ski resort in Aspen and other ski resorts in Colorado, if you are new to skiing, they have professionally trained and experienced ski instructors to teach you how to safely go up and down those steep and rock-laden slopes.

So, if you are interested in coming to Colorado and get a taste of the true skiing experience, being your search for the best places to ski in Colorado on the Internet, which is filled with this type of info.

Always remember to choose a ski course that is suited to your level of experience. What I mean is you do not want to chose a course that is for experience skiers only and you are only a novice. In short, the skiing wonders of Colorado are waiting for you and all you have to do is to go there to experience it.
